What is the EIR Program?

Recognizing that many students at the University of Pennsylvania want to start their own businesses, Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs offers the Entrepreneur in Residence Program (EIR) to complement the classroom learning experience at Penn.

EIR provides an opportunity for students to meet one on one with a successful entrepreneur to discuss his or her aspirations as an entrepreneur.

Robert HaftWharton Entrepreneurial Programs would like to thank Wharton alumnus Robert Haft, W'74, for his generous gift in support of the Robert Haft Entrepreneur in Residence Fall Series.

A different highly accomplished entrepreneur comes to campus every Tuesday during the academic year. The visiting entrepreneurs come from diverse fields and are chosen based on their success starting and managing successful enterprises.

Advance on-line registration is required. Registration opens two weeks before the EIR arrives on campus. A student must sign up in advance via the EIR website for a 30-minute appointment with the EIR.

Students are expected to come prepared with questions, based on their ideas, opinions, and strategies for potential or actual business ventures. Students are encouraged to choose to meet with entrepreneurs who are active in fields that capture the student's interest.
