Student Mentoring

Students participating in entrepreneurship foundation courses and the Wharton Business Plan Competition are encouraged to request mentors. The mentor is asked to spend at least 30 minutes of time with the team discussing their questions and advising them on specific issues. Mentoring may take place through email exchanges, telephone appointments, or in person.

The Wharton Business Plan Competition (BPC)

The Wharton Business Plan Competition engages some of the world's most respected leaders in business to judge the plans submitted by the participating teams. Judges are important participants in the Competition, shaping and influencing new business ventures from the University of Pennsylvania's best and brightest entrepreneurial talent. Judges must be professionals, with experience writing and/or evaluating business plans, committed to providing aspiring entrepreneurs with comprehensive feedback on their plans. The judging process, including qualitative feedback and quantitative scoring, is accomplished through an on-line judging system.

The Entrepreneur-in-Residence Program (EIR)

 - Robert Haft Entrepreneur in Residence Fall Series

Recognizing that many students at the University of Pennsylvania want to start their own businesses, WhartonEntrepreneurial Programs offers the Entrepreneur in Residence Program (EIR) to complement the classroom learning experience at Penn. EIR provides an opportunity for students to meet one-on-one, for 30 minutes, with a successful entrepreneur to discuss his or her aspirations as an entrepreneur. A different highly accomplished entrepreneur comes to campus every Tuesday during the academic year. The visiting entrepreneurs come from diverse fields and are chosen based on their success starting and managing successful enterprises.
