Available to Undergraduates, First Year MBAs Application Process: Open application process in Spring semester. Check WEP website for updates. In Spring 2006, WEP instituted the Wharton Entrepreneurial Intern Fellowship. The Fellowship is awarded to students who plan to spend the summer in an entrepreneurial setting and who demonstrate outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement, a commitment to entrepreneurship at Wharton, and a commitment to pursuing an entrepreneurial career. Students awarded the Fellowship are expected, in the year following their internship, to serve as Ambassadors of Entrepreneurship. As Ambassadors, it is their responsibility to work with WEP staff to promote the entrepreneurial career path to the Wharton student community and to assist in providing continuity for this program after their summer internships. Available to Undergraduates Application Process: Awarded to the highest ranking Undergraduate team competing in the BPC. Awarded each year in conjunction with the Wharton Business Plan Competition, this award of $5000 supports the best business plan by an undergraduate team in entrepreneurial management. The Gloeckner Award will be given to the highest-ranking Wharton undergraduate team in the Wharton Business Plan Competition. At least 50% of the team must be made up of Wharton undergraduate students. The team must reach the semi-finals (the top 25) and submit a business plan for consideration as a finalist. Check the WBPC for information on the competition and award winners. If no team meets these criteria, the Award will be given at the discretion of Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs. Available to Undergraduates Application Process: based upon GPA. Each year the Loveman Award, a cash prize of $1000, is given to the student(s) with the highest cumulative GPA graduating with a Secondary Concentration in Entrepreneurship. Winners are notified in the spring. Available to Undergraduates Application Process: based upon discretion of the Sol C. Snider Research Center This award is for an outstanding undergraduate who has worked as a research assistant at the Snider Entrepreneurial Research Center for at least 2 years. The recipient must be able to demonstrate creative abilities in doing Internet and library research, data compilation and data analysis. This individual must also demonstrate strong leadership qualities, especially while working with team members and the willingness to take the extra step in pursuing various research projects. Candidates will be selected from the Snider Entrepreneurial Research Center's team of Research Assistants. Available to 2nd Year MBA Students Application Process: open application available in Fall semester. Application available now. The Price Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies has sponsored a $5000 fellowship for one or two Wharton MBA students who are beginning their second year in the MBA program. Applicants must demonstrate the intent to pursue an entrepreneurial career, academic merit, and financial need. Available to MBA Students Application Process: based upon discretion of the MBA Financial Aid Office The Shils-Zeidman Fellowships in Entrepreneurship are awarded by Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs annually to select incoming MBA students from under-represented US minority groups, developing countries, and Israel who have financial need and an intent to study entrepreneurship. Up to $10,000 is awarded to entering first-year students who meet eligibility criteria and demonstrate a commitment to entrepreneurship in their admissions essays. Fellowships are renewable in the second year of the MBA program contingent on good academic standing. Available to Wharton Undergraduates, MBAs, and Ph.D. Students, Penn Graduates and Undergrads. Application Process: open to any VIP student entering phase II of the VIP program The Snider Seed Award is designated to provide seed capital to assist University of Pennsylvania students in the execution of the initial stages of their business plan. The Snider Seed Award is administered by Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs in conjunction with the Wharton Venture Initiation Program (VIP). More information is available on our VIP web page. Available to Wharton Undergraduate Juniors and First-Year MBA Students. Application Process: open application available in the Spring semester. Check WEP website for updates. The Wharton Venture Award (WVA) is intended to assist students financially (up to $15,000) over the summer in lieu of full-time internships so that they can concentrate on developing their entrepreneurial ventures. Winners are required to work on their ventures full-time over the summer. Wharton undergraduate juniors and first-year MBA students who are developing a venture and have a business plan are welcome to apply. |
