Bio:

Atul is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Strategy at the Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His current research focuses on issues of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship within the strategic context of firm performance. He is conducting empirical research on the above issues in the pharmaceutical, chemical and optical disc industries with specific emphasis on the patent portfolios of firms and the evolutionary process underlying their development.

Prior to joining Kenan-Flagler, Atul was on the faculty of the Columbia Business School and the Wharton School. Atul received his Ph.D in the area of Strategic Management from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the PhD program at Wharton, he worked with the Unilever Group of Companies in India. Atul also has a Bachelors degree in Production Engineering from the University of Bombay, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and an MA in Managerial Science and Applied Economics from Wharton.

Atul teaches in the MBA program and Doctoral Program at Kenan-Flagler. He teaches Strategic Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Venture Initiation.
